Supplementary Materials
Knowing Leads To Growing.
At Formative Minds, we don't only help to Hyper Target students' individual weaknesses.
We constantly review data on cohort-basis to identify any cohort weaknesses and provide supplementary materials to remediate learning gaps in a timely fashion.
We practice what we preach. Students review their own data to improve on their own weaknesses. Teachers also take the same approach to review data to improve teaching method and delivery.
Gaps and Intervals
Note From Founding Teachers
In Primary 4, students learn about "Gaps and Intervals" using simple patterns like ABABA.
However, in Primary 5 and 6, the topic gets harder. They encounter more complex patterns (ABAB, BABA, BABAB) and more objects (ABBABBA), plus varying distances at the pattern's start and end.

Students struggle because they:
-
Use the simple P4 method for harder P5/6 questions.
-
Skip drawing small sample patterns (as taught) and get lost.
-
Try to memorize formulas and apply them incorrectly.

The key is to always draw a small sample pattern and then figure out the larger pattern. Don't memorize or skip steps—it's easy to get confused. Drawing a small sample doesn't take long and will prevent errors.
How To Use This
-
Have your child watch the Zoom supplementary lesson and work through the example problems, pausing to try them on their own using the methods taught.
-
Have your child complete the supplementary worksheet independently, ideally without referring to the lesson or tutorials.
-
Have your child give you the completed worksheet to grade.
-
If there are mistakes, review them with your child, ensuring they understand and follow the correct steps.
